Reiki is a Japanese energy-healing practice developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui, who created the system that later became known as Usui Reiki Ryōhō. According to Reiki tradition, Usui experienced a profound spiritual awakening during a period of meditation and fasting on Mount Kurama in Japan, which led him to develop a method of working with what Reiki practitioners describe as universal life-force energy.
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese words Rei, often translated as “universal” or “spiritual,” and Ki, meaning “life-force energy.” During a Reiki session, the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above different areas of the body with the intention of supporting relaxation, energetic balance and a greater sense of harmony. Distance Reiki offers the same experience and potential benefits as an in-person session, the only difference is that the person receive it remotely.
During a Reiki session, you relax comfortably in your own space while I connect with your energy and guide Reiki through the session. You can simply close your eyes, rest and receive. Some people experience warmth, tingling, emotional release, imagery or deep relaxation, while others simply feel calm and peaceful.
Reiki can also create a quiet space for inner listening, intuition and reconnection with yourself. During a session, some people may experience spontaneous images, memories, sensations or symbolic visions arising in the mind as they relax and process emotions connected to areas of tension or energetic imbalance.
It can also be a beautiful reset after a busy or intense week or weekend, including nights out or partying, helping you slow down, feel grounded again and restore a greater sense of balance and harmony in your energy.
